DRONE GAMEZ - The Drone Seeker (CTF)

This WhiteFox Drone Defense sponsored contest is to design a game for DroneWarz events using autonomous UAV Drones, Robots, or a combination of the two. Game design specifications are available upon request. The winner will receive $1000 and recognition at the event and on our website. The game MUST be prototyped and functional to be considered. Designs will be reviewed by DarkSkyz and the sponsor for award consideration. Award requirements include exclusive license for the design for future gamez. Award recipients are also invited to join DroneWarz as one of our volunteer scientists and work in the Village annually or otherwise join DronWarz with a free annual DefCon pass as long as this exciting village is part of DefCon.

VISION QUEST

This EC-Council sponsored contest places FPV cameras in a frequency rich environment for your enjoyment. Find the camera, win a prize - tat simple. The village will be giving away a ton prizes this year valued at nearly $15k. Prizes include robots, drones,  build kits, STORMs, Raspberry PI and Arduino systems, t-shirts, training classes, and much more.

SATURDAY AUG 10

DROP A DRONE

This Ettus Research sponsored contest puts a drone in perpetual flight in the Village flight area and you can use any wireless attack except jamming to attempt to drop the drone. Physical restriction is 5 feet from the drone and no kinetic attacks are permitted. Otherwise, there are no rules. Sensor manipulation, conquer the controller, Pwn-a-drone tactics are all welcome. If you drop the drone, you keep the drone - that simple. This is your chance to leave the conference with an enterprise drone in your pack! Come join the fun!

D1SC0V3R - Objective 3

DroneWarz team will fly a commercial drone throughout conference areas the day before the Village opens. With access to this drone post mission, the first individual or team to correctly identify the flight path, pictures or video, the payload, the pilot location and the intended mission wins the prize. This is a forensics challenge and mission analysis objective and the DroneWarz team may issue the challenge more than once during the event.

CONQUER THE CONTROLLER

Hacking

 V1S10N - Objective 8

The Vision Systems objective sponsored by FatShark is seeking the best offensive and defensive capability for interruptions of controller vision systems. FatShark supplies new goggles each year for your viewing pleasure. If you are not here for the hacking, just try on the goggles and strap in for the thrilling experience first person view (FPV).

CTF

Competition

B@TTL3 - Objective 11

Escape the crowds at DefCon and hang with DroneWarz!  The DroneWarz team has designed a CTF game that allows teams to engage each other in a cage match for flags. The arena includes several custom DroneWarz themed flags for teams to conquer before their opponents, or the audience. Yes, the audience can capture flags also. Audience captures reduce the flags in play for teams in the arena or changes colors to match their favorite team in the arena. The team with the most flags wins! This is a CTF and battle arena you must see to believe. Join us and conquer the skyz. All Skyz Belong to Us!

RACE SAFETY

Race

S@F3TY - Objective 12

How can we make races safer? If drone can be hacked in flight and controller operations manipulated, drone race outcomes may be influenced by these capabilities. This objective seeks the overall best demonstrated strategy for gaining a technical advantage in a race and best countermeasures for competitive racers. The goal is to identify risk and enable better spectator and racer safety during a sanctioned race event. While performing this objective, take time to race in the simulators and watch the MultiGP International Open in Indiana this same weekend. As official DroneWarz sponsors, results will be shared with DRL and MUltiGP using our principles of responsible disclosure.
